FilipiNow Launching

Now  that homeschooling is happening all over, parents are faced with the challenging task of balancing their role as parent, friend, and teacher assistant to help their children with school work. Also, children are  shaped by the content they watch online and on TV.  Thus, ABarKaDa will create content for Filipino children (and adults  alike) that have three parts: academic content, Bible stories, and Filipino cultural values. ABarKaDa will also teach traditional Philippine games (patintero, sungka, tumbang preso), folk songs etc that  parents and children can share as bonding while re-learning Filipino heritage.  

FilipiNow is the name of the project that will power ABarKaDa. It is a collaboration between PRIMECom Corporation in Canada and Casa Nieves Pictures in the Philippines.  Casa Nieves Pictures is composed mainly of 1) Direk Dante Garcia, the director of "Ploning" that starred Judy Ann Santos and was the  Philippines' official entry to the 81st Oscar Awards; 2) Director Jeffrey Hidalgo who many remember as part of Ryan  Cayabyab's "Smokey Mountain"; 3) LJ Romero who was in ABS-CBN's  marketing department and in charge of creating the ABarKaDa phone app.
